Why do I need to submit my patient’s symptoms?

3billion does not only report the pathogenic variants found in a patient but determine the mutation that is causing a patient’s symptoms.
This means that if a patient has a pathogenic variant, but it is not associated with symptoms, it will not be reported. The more detailed of symptoms and medical history are, the better we can interpret the variant and increase the likelihood of a diagnosis.
