How should samples be collected using the 3B-NEO newborn DBS card?

제공

1. Fill in patient information
Before collection, record the newborn’s information on the card, including the 3billion ID and date of birth.

2. Disinfect and perform heel prick
Disinfect the newborn’s heel and gently puncture it using a sterile lancet.

3. Remove the first drop of blood
Because the first drop may contain alcohol residue or tissue fluid, gently wipe it away with sterile gauze.

4. Collect the blood sample
Apply gentle pressure to the heel and lightly touch the filter paper with the second drop of blood onward, ensuring that all five marked circles on the card are sufficiently saturated.

5. Air dry naturally
After collection, allow the card to air dry thoroughly at room temperature (below 25°C) for at least 2 hours.
(Do not expose to direct sunlight or use heating devices.)

6. Seal and ship
Once completely dry, fold the card, place it into the provided zip-lock bag, seal it, and send it to 3billion.
